good news
Dear Anti-LNG Campaign members,
=20
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Governor Christie has officially vetoed the Liberty
Natural Gas project! After nearly four years of hard work, we have seen
the end of 3 LNG projects for now. Thank you to all of you for your
efforts in making this possible. =20
=20
Please go to this link to find our press release and the Governor's
letter and press release on the veto:

Despite the Governor's letter, the Coast Guard is still moving ahead
with the hearings. It is important that everyone still attends and
encourages others to attend as well. Have your testimony ready to go
and bring copies with you if you can.

Remember to thank the Governor and the DEP Commissioner, Bob Martin:

Subject: Coast Guard Hearing Re: LNG Gas Terminal
FYI I just wanted to make sure you all saw the email Anthony sent out a few minutes ago.
Dear Friend,
Concerned about preserving our coastal habitat? Me too. That's why I had the U.S. Coast Guard come to our community to hear your thoughts about a proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal off of the Rockaway peninsula.
The hearing is today, Tuesday, February 8th. The doors open at 5:00pm and the hearing starts at 6:30pm in the auditorium at Beach Channel High School, 100-00 Beach Channel Drive, Rockaway Park, NY.
But if you can't make it there, I'm bringing the hearing to you (well, at least to your computer).
I will be streaming the hearing LIVE on my website: www.weiner.house.gov starting at 6:30pm.
You can always share your thoughts with me by calling my community office at 520-9001.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Anthony
